Studio’s Founder, Tom Pope, was a true visionary, revered not only by us but by the entire industry. His unparalleled passion, expertise, and keen eye for both the minutest detail and grandest possibilities set him apart. Tom’s natural talent was further honed through formal education and professional training with some of the world’s best, including the eccentric and creative Jack Penance. After earning his B.F.A. in Sculpture from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Tom served as an Art Director at Morris White Advertising.

Tom’s artistic prowess and ever-active mind led him to pursue creative projects beyond his day job. Starting with small garage projects, he soon expanded to larger endeavors requiring rented spaces in garages and small warehouses. In Charlotte, every space was a blank canvas, and every creation was a masterpiece. From commercial projects for advertising and marketing to Christmas displays for America’s largest shopping malls and exhibits for major museums, the Studio team consistently delivered innovative, detailed, and complex designs under Tom’s direction. He was always candid and straightforward.
