It’s Time for New Beginnings

Thomas Pope and Lori Pope Rosso, March 2017

Well, it’s that time of year again – spring is here!  I am always so rejuvenated when this season arrives. As much as I hate springing forward and losing an hour of much-needed sleep, I love when it stays light outside longer.  I feel like I can get so much more accomplished as well as enjoy some daylight after I leave work.

This is our first spring at Studio without Dad – his light, energy, and spirit.  Dad loved spring – time to start fresh, time for new beginnings. And, this year at Studio, we are definitely welcoming some “new beginnings.”  Most of you already know this – I am 9 ½ months pregnant. We are expecting a brand-new, baby girl, Lucy Jean Rosso, any day now. (Seriously. I would LOVE for her to enter the world ANY DAY NOW!)  She will be the newest addition to the Studio family, and we know that she will bring some of that missing light back into our hallways.

As I go into this season and this new chapter, I am wondering how am I going to adapt to having a new little life to take care of. I realize that women have been doing this for centuries, and I know I will figure it out too, but I experienced the worst anxiety about two weeks ago, worrying about not only how to handle this change, but also how to plan for all of life’s new challenges with this new beginning. That anxiety has now subsided because I’ve seen and talked to a lot of my female colleagues and clients who are mothers. These amazing women have adapted successfully; they are incredible mothers as well as business women. You all are a great inspiration so THANK YOU for that.

If I’m aware of anything this spring it’s that this time of year is not only a time of renewal, but also a fresh time to start planning for what’s ahead. Perhaps it’s for those fall events, winter shows or the holiday celebrations. It’s never too early to start planning.

I’ll be taking some time after Lucy’s arrival to get both of us set, and I appreciate your patience with us; I’m eager to keep working and creating amazing exhibits and experiences on the show floor with our clients and prospective clients.  If there is one thing that I have learned over the past year, it’s that our Studio family is strong, consistent, and talented. This team of wonderful people will ensure that everything goes perfectly for our clients on the show floor and as you start fresh to plan your next show or new beginning.
