Lewis Family Gallery
The Lewis Family Gallery is a child friendly interactive installation at the Mint Museum in Charlotte, N.C., a museum of fine arts. The exhibit is designed to immerse the visitors in activities and images that are inspired by artworks from the museum’s collection.
The featured exhibit element is “Memories of Mecklenburg”, an interactive structure and landscape inspired by the works of the Charlotte native Romare Bearden. The environment allows whole families to create, interact and experience art in a context outside of the usual fine art museum experience. An adjacent interactive drawing table allows multiple visitors to collaborate in creating their own art to display.
